Crystal Creek was honored with a royal presence on October 25^th, 2016, when Wisconsin’s 69^th Alice in Dairyland representative, Ann O’Leary, visited for a tour of the company’s recently expanded facility. Ann travels across Wisconsin educating the public about the importance of our diverse agriculture industry.  As an agricultural ambassador, Ann’s duties include television and radio interviews, public speaking engagements with various audiences, article publishing and using a number of different media venues via the internet.

On Tuesday, June 28^th, 2016 over 15 University of Wisconsin-Extension Agents visited Crystal Creek®.  Local Washburn County Area Ag Agent, Richard Otto Wiegand and Area Ag Development Agent, Kevin Schoessow helped organize the event which included visits to several other local businesses related to the agriculture industry.

Crystal Creek® is a family owned business located in Spooner, WI that has experienced continual growth since its origin in Prescott, WI in 1998.  The company has expanded 3 times in the last 18 years and currently employs approximately 14 people.

The most recent expansion is a 32,500 square foot warehouse being built this summer to help better serve Crystal Creek’s growing customer base.  Crystal Creek® supplies farmers all over the United States and Canada with livestock mineral and animal health supplements. 

Crystal Creek® values the service and information UW-Extension Agents supply the agricultural community and appreciate the opportunity to work with others to further the sustainability of producers from all types of operations.

Crystal Creek^®, a Spooner based agricultural company is expanding.  A 32,500 sq. foot addition is being added to their existing warehouse to better serve the growing needs of their clients.  This expansion is the third building project the company has taken on in their 18 years of business.  Crystal Creek^® was started in a garage in Prescott, WI in 1998 by husband and wife team, Dan and Jan Leiterman.  In 2001, the company moved from Prescott to Trego to a new 3,200 sq. ft. facility.  In 2007, it was apparent that the current facility was not large enough to meet their needs and they started renting warehouse space in Spooner from the Northwest Regional Planning Commission.  A new 5,000 sq ft. office and 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility, designed with future expansions in mind, was built in 2008 at the current Roundhouse Road location in Spooner.

 In 2014, additional warehouse space was needed to keep pace with company growth and so again more space was rented.  In 2015, Northwest Builders of Rice Lake, WI was chosen to design and build the current 32,500 sq. foot expansion.  Ground was broken at the end of March 2016 with a September 1st anticipated completion date.

 SPOONER– “We built this way too big.”

If past history is any indication, that may well be the thought as Dan, Jan, and Ryan Leiterman stand inside Crystal Creek’s newest warehouse expansion project, now under construction.

Crystal Creek^® provides nutritional supplements and animal health aids for livestock across the United States and Canada and was founded by husband and wife team Dan and Jan Leiterman in 1997. In 2012, their son Dr. Ryan, joined the family business as the company’s staff veterinarian and newest business partner.

Crystal Creek’s birth, like some notable companies, was in a garage. It relocated to a newly built 40-by-80-foot warehouse in Trego in 2001, which the Leiterman’s thought was “way too big” once they moved the company into it.
